They like open, treeless locations down to sea amount and may just take any prey that is offered, from tiny birds to snakes. In Scotland, they prefer hares and grouse, and at times rabbits. In coastal regions, they like fulmars to gulls. Some have even been spotted seeking to consider deer calves.
